Jody Lynn Smith, the author of Talk a Different Game at Work is the former Vice President of start-up success and now global business Technologists, Inc. (Ti); and she now leads Context Engineering (C.E.) LLC as its President. Her unique insights from these experiences and 25 years working in public relations, business development, client relationship management and analysis for organizations in the Fortune 500, federal government, and institutional, manufacturing and non-profits are contained in this highly useful edition. Smith’s current venture, C.E., is a niche entrepreneurship geared towards assisting would be authors and entrepreneurs in finding the right context to get their message across to customers, stakeholders, family members, peers, board members and readers at large, who may benefit from the experience. Smith is the co-author of The Yankee Princess, the true father-daughter love/hate story of Jennie Paul and her Dad when he owned the New York Yankees and delivered 3-back to back World Series victories among many other worthy accomplishments. In December, she published a youth fiction work that resulted from a 2008 mission trip with her son to Beards Fork, West Virginia. Ninety-percent of the profits go to the school. This work includes input from more than 20 children, 5 AmeriCorps mentors and volunteers from Global Volunteers and is entitled Sal's Very Funny,Slightly Scary,Mysterious Dream Chase Adventure. Yes the kids named it!
Smith holds a B.A from Penn State University and an M.B.A from Southern New Hampshire University; She is a recipient of the Tribute to Women in Industry Award,Outstanding Young Leaders of America Award and both the Gold and Silver Screen Awards from the National Association of Government Communicators. She is a single working mother, who spent much of her career in Washington D.C. Most recently Smith followed her passion to live in Myrtle Beach, SC, although she travels frequently for clients and speaking engagements related to the book.
